BURGER KING® Kids' Meals Invite Families to HAVE IT YOUR WAY® with Choice of CARE BEARS™

(Thursday, August 18, 2005) - This summer Burger King Corporation (BKC) teams up with two leaders in the "classic toy" industry for a nostalgic Kids Meal promotion that allows kids to discover some of the most popular toys of the 1980s. CARE BEARS™, the adorable, caring and sharing bears, and TRANSFORMERS™, the good vs. evil "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE," are arriving at BURGER KING® restaurants nationwide today for a four week promotion.

With the purchase of a Kids Meal, BURGER KING customers will have a choice of one of four CARE BEARS or one of four TRANSFORMERS, including some of the very same characters some parents grew up with two decades ago. Each of the plush CARE BEARS — Harmony Bear, Wish Bear, Cheer Bear and Funshine Bear — showcases a different tummy symbol, which highlights their special area of caring. These collectible plush CARE BEARS come complete with a large clip for CARE BEARS fans to carry their favorite bears everywhere. Each of the TRANSFORMERS, RED ALERT, JETFIRE, OPTIMUS PRIME AND MEGATRON, changes their action pose two or three times to transform from a vehicle to a robot.

Flashback: CARE BEARS and TRANSFORMERS
Designed to teach children the importance of caring and sharing, the CARE BEARS, a group of adorable, furry friends each with a special caring mission, were originally introduced by American Greetings in 1982 and relaunched in 2002. Every Care Bear wears a bright-colored tummy symbol that tells the world who they are and what their special area of caring is. TRANSFORMERS, under license from the Hasbro Properties Group, debuted in 1984 and are currently celebrating 21 years of success. In order to blend into their environment, the robots are disguised as vehicles or animals and designed for imaginative play with a "good guy," AUTOBOT, vs. "not so good guy," DECEPTICON, storyline.
