Charity the Big Winner at A&W® All American Games on Sept. 25

Total of $2,750 Raised to Support Charities in Inaugural Event

LOUISVILLE, KY (Monday, September 27, 2004) - A total of $2,750 was raised to support charities during the A&W® All American Games Saturday at the Washington Township, Ohio, A&W® restaurant. Mike Kaylor posted the winning time, chowing down on a Papa Burger, Coney Dog and Root Beer Float in only one minute and 29 seconds!

Kaylor won the coveted Gold Root Beer Mug trophy, a gold medal and raised $1,100 for the New Life Drama Company. Each of 10 contestants earned money for the charities of their choice by eating an A&W® Papa Burger, All American Coney Dog and Root Beer Float as quickly as possible.

“The Dayton market is very important to us,” said Ken Thewes, Director of Marketing for A&W All American Food. “This is a market that has brought to life our ‘Hometown Food Made Fun” brand position. The All American Games were a great way to say thanks to our hometown customers, donate money to charity and have some fun all at the same time.”

Jason Clark finished second in 1:50, and raised $600 for the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He received a Silver trophy and medal.

The third-place finisher was Whitney Francis (2:00), who raised $350 for Crosswalk of Wright State University. Whitney earned the Bronze trophy and medal.

The remaining seven participants each earned $100 donations for their favorite charities.
