La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill Introduces New Menu Items with Proceeds to Benefit Red Cross in Florida
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Thursday, November 11, 2004) -
La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill(R) will celebrate the introduction of three new menu items by donating 50 percent of the proceeds from the sale of those items at its West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale restaurants to the American Red Cross in Florida during the week of November 15-19.
This one-week promotion was created to provide vital support to the American Red Cross in the aftermath of the four hurricanes that ravaged sections of Florida throughout September. It also is intended to introduce guests to La Salsa's new direction in Mexican cuisine, as exemplified by the Fire Roasted Bowl, Stuffed Fajita Quesadilla and Fresca Platter, which were recently introduced.
La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill Restaurants are located at 401 E. Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and 477 S. Rosemary in West Palm Beach's City Place.
"The American Red Cross has brought relief and comfort to communities throughout Florida in the aftermath of four deadly storms," said Steve McDowell, franchisee of La Salsa's two South Florida restaurants. "Now, we want to take this occasion to give something back to this vital organization at a time when its resources have been sorely depleted."
The Fire Roasted Bowl, Stuffed Fajita Quesadilla and Fresca Platter are the latest examples of La Salsa's quest to provide a more adventurous and flavorful dining experience. The Fire Roasted Bowl is grilled marinated chicken or sirloin steak, served with fire-roasted zucchini and fajita veggies, garlic, broccoli, beans, corn, diced carrots, rice and Salsa Mexicana. This delightful creation is topped with poblano crema, Cotia cheese and cilantro.
The Stuffed Fajita Quesadilla is a flavor-rich entree featuring a chipotle-laced tortilla stuffed with a blend of aged cotija and Mexican cheeses, cilantro, generous amounts of grilled and marinated chicken or steak, and a new ancho chile-flavored sauce that is served with guacamole, sour cream and salsa Mexicana.
The Fresca Platter is available with either grilled chicken or sirloin steak, and consists of La Salsa's new Salsa Casera and an assortment of grilled fajita-style vegetables that are sprinkled with cotija cheese and topped with salsa Mexicana. This entree is served with sour cream, guacamole, and a Romaine salad drizzled with Chile-Lime dressing on the side. A serving of robust ancho chile sauce lends added zest to the new dish.
The creative evolution of La Salsa's menu began during the summer of 2004 with the introduction of several new menu items, underscoring the innovative spirit of one of the nation's fastest growing quick-casual restaurant concepts. While the restaurant chain has already won a loyal following for its leadership of the "fresh and quality" concept in Mexican cuisine, its new menu items reflect growing consumer desire for the addition of more sophisticated, bold flavors.
La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill(R) serves lunch and dinner daily. Menu items range from $3 to $8 with a children's menu for those 12 and under. Vegetarian selections also are available. Most major credit cards are accepted. La Salsa is a wholly owned subsidiary of CKE Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE:CKR). For more information. visit http://www.lasalsa.com
