Hot Stuff Foods, formerly Orion Food Systems, Inc. was founded in 1983 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA, with the goal of offering high-quality food products to the "time-conscious" consumer. The initial brand introduced by this innovative company was Pizza Patrol­, a successful regional pizza delivery franchise that opened its first location in October 1984.

Shortly after, Hot Stuff Pizza­ brand was introduced into the convenience store channel filling a consumer need for high-quality branded food in the C-store environment. Hot Stuff Pizza­ is one of the largest fast-food brands within the convenience store industry, now operating in more than 1,000 locations.
