Edo Japan
Quick-service restaurant specializing in Japanese food
Susumu Ikuta wanted to develop a healthy fast food restaurant, and in 1977 he opened Omi of Japan, a sit-down restaurant in Calgary, Alberta. With the help of his family, Ikuta expanded the chain through Calgary and Vancouver. The company began franchising in 1988. Now called Edo Japan, the restaurant offers customers a variety of Japanese favorites including teriyaki chicken, spring rolls and sushi.
